Parcelforce: 'Catalytic converter thefts at Gloucester depot won't disrupt our deliveries'

Brazen thieves broke into Parcelforce’s Gloucester depot to steal catalytic converters from delivery vans parked just a stone’s throw away from Gloucestershire’s police HQ.

Police were called to Parcelforce Worldwide in the Waterwells Business Park in Quedgeley at 8am yesterday morning.

Catalytic converters were stolen from the vans at some point between 5pm on Saturday December 20 and 6am on the morning of Sunday December 21.

Offenders broke into the depot’s secure rear yard, forcing their way through a fence, before stealing more than half a dozen catalytic converters.

They left the exhaust pipes behind.

Gloucestershire police are now appealing for witnesses and information while they review any available CCTV.

Gloucestershire Constabulary’s headquarters is based in Waterwells Drive.

The Echo asked Parcelforce whether or not the catalytic converter thefts would have an impact on deliveries.

A spokeswoman said it would not because the company had found replacement vehicles to do the job.

A Parcelforce Worldwide spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that thieves broke into a secure vehicle compound and stole catalytic converters from eight of our delivery vehicles last night (Sunday December 21).

“We would urge anyone with information to contact the police immediately.

“We have managed to source replacement vehicles and deliveries to our customers were carried out as normal.”
