Ok now I'm really confused!

Post by ChrisinBury »

Hi, a newbie here, been looking through the posts but no-one seems to be in the same position as me (?)

I applied for a xmas casual job in Middleton, Manchester via REMPLOY as I am unemployed and on the work programme- - ,i got through the application, was invited for an interview/registration even in Manchester on 14th October 2014 and was successful, I was offered a shift pattern and I opted for Tuesday - Saturday earlies 6am - 2pm.

They took my photograph and gave me an "offer letter2, before I left the event they all welcomed me to RM which was a nice touch. The guy at the event said to me I should receive some more notification ie a welcome pack etc before I commence work. It's been 4 weeks and 3 days since my job offer and every day I log on to my RM account is still states "interview booked" (!!!) - I have had all this, supposed to be starting on 18th November at 6am.
To confuse things even more, I emailed the helpline who have emailed back to say that they have no more slots available and I am waiting for an interview!!.

I read that others have been emailed to say they have passed security checks etc, their status changed etc... mine hasn't . Is this just a delay?, have RM got their wires crossed or should I not worry and just turn up at 6am next Tuesday for my induction?.

To be fair, the guy at my reg event said just arrive "in the unlikely event you haven't heard from us before"..

Any advice would really put my mind at rest, not had work for nearly 2 years and I am now beginning to feel like Mr ad Luck is again walking up my garden path.... Cheers

its a busy time of the year as they are recruiting 18,000 temps so some things do get lost in the "post".

my tuppenceworth is definitely does as he suggest and turn up on the day, but also email the recruitment team back and advise them that you have had the interview etc and they should be able to check on the rest of the pre-employment stuff.

Good luck.
