Speling

Post by clashcityrocker »

I know that not everyone is a grammar Nazi and that poor spelling is tolerated throughout the board. I am almost cool with that now.
However, given that the general public have access to the site, could we at least make sure the titles of the threads are correct.
I am sure a lot of it is simply down to haste, but it makes us look poorly educated.

But surely being "poorly educated" doesn't mean we've not got the ability, commitment and dedication to be 'first class' posties ? :thumbup

I think it shows a lack of attention to detail, which is surely a prerequisite for being a "first class" postie.

No,
I no longer mind that you haven't bothered to make the distinction between your and you're, but when such mistakes occur in the titles, I think they should be corrected.
It looks sloppy.
I think the general public deserves better. I think we deserve better.

I agree. I corrected someone's spelling on their dreadfully-scrawled postcard today. It was shocking, 'To Granma', it started and ended with 'luv Tim'. Bleeding thing had red pen all over it by the time I was done with it, and a big fat '2/10 - must try harder' at the end.

I am joking, by the way, that would be silly. Just like this thread - everyone knows that all posties are as thick as 2 short planks, just like management keep telling us.

Indeed. Creased uniforms and unkempt hair are indicative of Royal Mail no longer being what it once was. and it's only going to get even worse now we've been pirateised. :no no

Obviously the demise can be traced back to the introduction, and removal of the clip on tie.
Now the DO is mainly staffed by youths who can't even pull their trousers up.
Obviously they have never tied a tie.
Obviously they can't spell.

Should not that be `clip-on`.
