Craig Gibbs has been imprisoned for four years and eight months for two seperate robberies in Widnes and Liverpool.
A VIOLENT robber who pushed a postman to the ground in Widnes to steal cash has been caged for nearly five years.
Craig Gibbs, 29, of Damwood Road in Speke, was sentenced on Tuesday, July 22, at Liverpool Crown Court after pleading guilty to a robbery in Widnes and another in Liverpool.
Gibbs pounced on a postman as he delivered cash to the Post Office on Liverpool Road in Widnes on Wednesday, April 16.
As the items were being placed in a counter hatch, Gibbs grabbed them and pushed the victim to the ground.
He also attacked a shop window with a hammer while robbing a store in Hunts Cross, Liverpool, in December.
After being unsuccessful in his attempts to smash the glass, he entered the store and smashed a Rolex cabinet and stole three watches.
He was sentenced to four years imprisonment for the Widnes robbery and four years and eight months for the Hunts Cross incident, with the sentences to run concurrently.

“This is a significant outcome, which came about as a result of the fantastic help and support of the victims and witnesses.
“We hope that the court result serves as a warning to other would-be robbers that if you choose to break the law you will be actively targeted, caught and punished.
