HI Mate............we have been told ALL I/A HAS BEEN CANCELLED A/ because we have a deal to look at and B/ royal mail got a court injunction banning the strike on some technical note :lfo :cfo

This weeks IA has been halted by the court injunction but any other IA planned for future weeks will go ahead is neccessary. the link below is the official CWU explanation :cfo

That does not sound correct to me, yes Mondays and Tuesdays have been cancelled due to an high court injuction, but the rest of the action scheduled for the rest of the week is still on. Unless the pec recommend acceptance and then i would suggest that all action would probally be canceled. The two relevant LTB are shown below:

Suspension Of Planned Industrial Action Scheduled For 18.00 Hours Monday 15th October Until 1800 Hours Tuesday 16th October And Of That Scheduled For 03.00 Hours Tuesday 16th October Until 03.00 Hours Wednesday 17th October.

CWU were informed this afternoon that Royal Mail was seeking an injunction in lieu of a full hearing to prevent industrial action taking place next Monday/Tuesday 15/16th October and Tuesday/Wednesday 16/17th October.

At 6.00 p.m. today â€“ Friday 12th October - our lawyers advised the General Secretary that Royal Mail had been successful in obtaining the injunction. The Union was represented by John Hendy QC, together with Binder Bansell, Pattinson Brewer who vigorously defended the action in the Court. Despite this the injunction was granted.

The Court has restrained the Union from calling out its members in Mail Centres and Delivery Offices on Monday 15th. Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th October respectively and as a consequence each action consisting of strike action of 24 hour duration will no longer take place. As a consequence you should attend for work and work normally. Details of the injunction will be forwarded to Branches on receipt.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS DOES NOT AFFECT FURTHER PLANNED STRIKE ACTION WHICH THE UNION HAS ALREADY SERVED NOTICE OF, WHICH IS UNAFFECTED BY THIS DECISION.

It will be noted that the injunction does not cover Airports and Separate Collection Hubs but because of the small numbers involved it was thought prudent to also withdraw this planned action.

Branches are asked to ensure that all members are made aware of this. This LTB us being sent out electronically to all Branches and Divisional Reps. Divisional Reps, in particular, are asked to ensure that Branches within their areas are made aware of this communication.

ROYAL MAIL DISPUTE â€“ Industrial Action Programme

Further to LTB 849/07 the Unionâ€™s Postal Executive has agreed to announce further strike Action.

The next Action will be a continuation of site specific/functional strikes. This means Royal Mail will face a further week of continuous disruption to mail services.

The full Programme of the next planned strikes commencing Monday 15th October 2007 is detailed below. For individuals it will mean one further 24 hour strike over the next week.

There is no doubt that the rolling Programme will now have a major impact on the company following the two 48 hour strikes. Talks are continuing with the business however there are still significant hurdles to overcome which is why we must continue to apply further pressure in order for an acceptable agreement to be reached.

Mail Centres and Airports - duties, Scheduled Attendance and overtime commencing at or after 18.00 Monday 15th October 2007 and before 18.00 Tuesday 16th October 2007.
Deliveries and Separate Collection Hubs - duties, Scheduled Attendance and overtime commencing at or after 03.00 Tuesday 16th October 2007 and before 03.00 Wednesday 17th October 2007.
[ My reading of the judgement is that the above is cancelled]

[The following actions by my reading of the judgement and the ltb above are still on subject to the pec recommending the 'agreement' and calling off the action. But this is only my view point and yes you should take advice from your rep or ring cwu hq]

Network - duties, Scheduled Attendance and overtime commencing at or after 12 noon Wednesday 17th October 2007 and before 12 noon Thursday 18th October 2007.
MDECs - duties, Scheduled Attendance and overtime commencing at or after 12 noon Thursday 18th October 2007 and before 12 noon Friday 19th October 2007.
International/HWDC - duties, Scheduled Attendance and overtime commencing at or after 14.00 Thursday 18th October 2007 and before 14.00 Friday 19th October 2007.
