Duston school's lost exam papers are found in the post

It was all’s well that ends well for a group of pupils at Duston School - as a set of lost exam papers were found in the post.

The group of year ten teenagers on the GCSE equivalent CACHE child development and care course had been told they would have to retake their end of unit exams on June 24 because the Royal Mail had lost them.

Parents were outraged as they felt the important documents should have been sent in a more secure fashion.

But this week a spokesperson confirmed the papers have now been found - with all 20 pupils having passed.

Mother of 15-year-old Bethany, Susan Freund, was pleased with the outcome.

She said: “Bethany is very relieved she does not have to sit the exams again.

“I find it strange the papers were found soon after we kicked up a stink about it.”

A spokesperson for Duston School said: “The Duston School would like to thank the Royal Mail for their extensive and persistent search for the exam papers.

“We are delighted that all our students have passed this unit of the child development and care exam.”

A spokesperson for Duston School didn't explain whether the package had been correctly addressed, securely packaged and had the correct postage affixed.
