Amazon is to double its 700,000 sq ft floorspace at Rugeley.
The internet giant has applied to Cannock Chase council for permission to reconfigure the building at Towers business park.
There will also be new traffic arrangements and an entrance.
Amazon is believed to have a separate requirement for a 1m sq ft Midlands warehouse.
Amazon selected the Rugeley site, development by Gazeley, in Autumn 2011, making it one of the first big deals of the economic recovery.
The warehouse, on the A513 site of the former Lea Hall Colliery, was completed by Gazeley in 2008 but stood empty during the recession.
