Job and Finish is THE problem

J and F has f****d up the Postal Service. OK we have far more mail to deal with these days but lets face it - we are rushing around throwing letters in any old slot so long as we get home early. The attitude to our clients is 'f**k em', and they pay our wages!

We need to get back to the days of actually giving a s**t about accurate deliveries. DO THE JOB PROPERLY and sure u won't get it all deliverd so bring it f***ing back. No hassles, bring it back and they will quickly need to hire more posties - the managers can't deliver it all.

Proper bag weights, don't rush round -- that gives u time to flick check properly and cutoff if doing the job properly requires it.
If we do that we have got a rewarding job - casue the customers will be back onside with accurate deliveries - and one that isn't gonna do our backs and knees in. NO MORE JOB AND FINISH :cfo

WHAT WOULD BE THE ALTERNATIVE TO DOING YOUR JOB AND FINISHING.
NO SENSIBLE ONE I BET.
ITS UNECONOMICAL FOR YOU TO GO BACK TO YOUR DEPOT WHEN YOU FINISH.
ALSO MOST POSTIES WOULD JUST TAKE THEIR TIME ,HAVE CUPS OF TEA ETC, ETC
SO JOB AND FINISH IS THE BEST SOLUTION FOR BOTH ROYAL MAIL AND ITS WORKFORCE.
ANYONE WITH EXPERIENCE OF A WORKPALCE WOULD SEE THIS
ITS THE OLD CARROT OR STICK QUESTION
ME AND IM SURE MOST PEOPLE PREFER THE CARROT,

Job and Jack is a double edged sword, fine for the short term but will lead to job cuts in the long term. We had it in our office, as people retired or took EVR they were not replaced. Because we were finishing early we were told we could absorb the extra work. After some unofficial IA they took J&J away. Best decision managers could have made, now we stay to the allotted time but pressure and stress is nil. No more running around trying to get the mail out, thats the managers problem not mine. Oh, and by the way, please don't shout, i'm not deaf.

Well I'd come back to the CUSTOMER ISSUE (sorry) customer issue! The service they are getting from us posties rushing round leaving mail in porches when it should go inside, doorsteping packets, endless misdeliveries, trampling over their gardens, putting recordeds thru, is all s**t. We look like useless w*****s and they deserve better.

The company has a slightly lower wage bill from us rushin round but the savings go to management in performance bonuses - OUR PERFORMANCE - jesus we r thick!

I used to think man I don't have time to do this properly so f**k em - here you can go back in the pouch letter (even if I'm next door). We do it cause Royal Mail Managers have f****d it up giving us too many roads on our walks and encouraging us to f**k off home as soon as we can. Don't fall for it - there is no benifit to the company image from J and F only pissed off customers, a s**t service, a postman customers never get to talk to, a bad back and knees from rushing with overweight bags. The managers are the problem but we let it happen - do the job properly.

btw i cut off everyday this week cause there wasn't enough time to do it properly. my delivery accuracy has shot thru the roof

I have always said Job and Finish is a Trojan horse, this gives them the excuse to add more on for free, add more on drivers as they no longer carry out Posties to their deliveries, clobbering yourselves in the process.

Job and Finish, the greatest stealth time and motion study ever. Really screwed it all up for all of us. A lot of the cretins in our office are still getting in early and racing their arses off every day and getting back hours before due finish time. Nearly all of them crossed the picket line and seem to think they have a get out of jail free card. How little do they realize whats ahead of them.

The rest of us now do the job properly. Dont run on delivery, drive over speed limit, start early, use our cars and take our break. We shall soon see who the loosers and winners are in the end.
