A POSTWOMAN from South Molton is set to run the London marathon in memory of her father.

Tracey Hulland's dad Mike Hulland died of bowel cancer four years ago aged 60.

Tracey will be running the 26-mile race to raise money for the charity Bowel and Cancer Research.

Tracey took up running in her early twenties. She said: "I did a lot of aerobic classes and everyone used to rave about running.

"I decided to give it a go and never stopped."

Tracey's father was a keen sportsman and according to Tracey was very proud of her when she completed her first London marathon shortly before he died.

Tracey hopes the memory of her dad will help her overcome the pain and keep focused.

Mike was a carpenter and builder from South Molton and Tracey has an idea of what he would say if he were still around. "He'd think I was mad," she said.

"He loved sport, but the only thing he ran was a bath.

"He was a keen golfer at Saunton Golf Club and he always watched the London Marathon on telly."
