A postman has admitted stealing bank cards from letters and drawing out thousands of pounds from people’s accounts.

Damon Alvey, 45, of Friday Court, Thame, was working out of Banbury sorting office in Merton Street and delivering in Bloxham.

At Banbury Magistrates’ Court on Friday, he admitted stealing mail between June 23 and October 16 last year, and four counts of fraud by false representation, where he stole £4,033 from two people’s bank accounts.

Sentencing was adjourned until March 17.
