Applying for a job on royal mail's public jobs site

Does anyone know can you still put yourself forward for a transfer to a job which is on the jobs site for the public to apply for. As a going current Royal mail employee would you be able to cancel the job going to the public. There is no option on that site to apply as a current staff member so how do you go about applying for it.

Sometimes the jobs are also listed on the internal site as well so you can apply as an internal candidate have you checked that?
The two sites look almost identical but if you apply internally you shouldn't have to do the sorting tests and the like again.

Sometimes it's better to contact the DOM directly at the office you want to transfer to. Most would rather take on an experienced postie rather than a new recruit.
