New parcel strategy by management

Post by whisperstar24 »

I just wondered if anyone else in their mail centre is trialling a new parcel strategy as well.
Our managers want us to put all the large/medium and small parcels through the one crash for sorting .
Therefore all large come into processing are in red sleeves and are sorted into alts and then red sleeves finally, regardless of size and weights ,with the one exception outside of 7.5 kg going onto empty yorks.
All large/medium and small parcels are put through secondary roads to go out to other mail centres in red sleeves only.
As the red sleeves don't always go fully down ,this idea does not seem practical and a waste of space.
and the process seems slower rather than having a separate process dedicated to large parcels only on dedicated empty yorks.

must be wcm at its best

Ah yes.
Management strategy at its best.
Useless, worthless, pointless.
Sometimes, I wish I wasn't a Rep.

Sounds like what we're having to try down south. Sounds like it's a national thing then. I hope that RM have ordered a good few thousand more sleeves from wherever they buy them from.

Still doing bulk into empty yorks where I am. Can't use red sleeves for all your 1st surely - some of it must go by air so needs to go in bags or loose if too big

We've been doing all 2C into sleeves for a year or so now, have the rest of you not been? Well, apart from JE, GY, IOM and BT.

1C is also all sleeved with us apart from the fliers.

We're supposed to be starting mixing large in with normal shortly, not sure when though. Just means we'll spend more time hunting round for empty sleeves so can't see what the benefit is really.

Will this mean yet another lowering of the ACF?
