IWW Fellow Worker has named me as a wind-up merchant.
I came here to voice my concerns because I am scared I will lose my business. I have no alternatives to Royal Mail deliveries.
I came here because there is no way for a customer of Royal Mail to complain publicly.
I am a genuine person with a genuine small business (which I would not dare to post a link on here for fear of militant scum doing something to blacken my name...)
Maybe you think I am a WUM because I asked if Billy Hayes earned £75k/year with no loss of pay through the strikes. Maybe that's because I want to open the eyes of anyone who thinks that union leaders always have their members interests at heart. Maybe I think they should not trust their union leaders so much. After all, what have the CWU done to tell us (your *customers*), what this is about? All they have done is bullshit us about the backlog of mail being small and deliveries being there in some places (we have had no mail since last thursday).
I shan't post again. Just remember, when the dust settles, Hayes and his cronies will still have a job- Crozier and his cronies will still have a job. Militant scum will occupy themselves with other union misery. Ask yourselves how many ordinary posties who just want to go to work will still have a job when the dust settles, if the strike is prolonged any longer?

I'm sorry, but you DO have alternatives. Trouble is that your business is not big enough to be of interest to our competitors, who are our customers too. Lest you forget we deliver their mail for a very, very, very, large discount. Ask Postcomm what has happened to that competition, what has happened to your choices? They have been here for 3 years, and have yet to deliver one of their own letters to a door. Postcomm are to blame for all this, not us!
You have access to this forum, for Godsakes read it. See why we are striking, see why we are not all that different. We are only looking for a decent living. We have chosen to do it by working for RM, and you by your own business. We are not against you, and never have been. We only have the power to force change, while Gordon Brown just has to put those changes in place by a stroke of his pen.
Trouble is we have the balls to do it, Brown and his business lackies do not.

1. We dont trust the CWU completeley and you only had to read other threads to see that.
2. The CWU have printed full page articles in national newspapers and where possible have appeared on TV to explain our position.
3. Its Royal Mail are the ones saying the backlog is smaller than expected and that deliveries are being done.
This part - we are trying to protect out terms and conditions, a lot of posties are saying that the cannot afford to stay in the job if Alan Leighton and Adam Crozier get their way. Perhaps that's what they are really hoping for so they employ Parents during school hours and students during term time, holidays and on a lot less than we deserve.Trends Guild wrote: I shan't post again. For WUM
A WUM by any other name is still a WUM.
It's none of your business what any of our officials are paid or whether they are paid during a strike. These issues are for CWU members and if we want to raise them then we have the mechanisms to do so.
However, the brothers and sisters are not stupid and will not be diverted from the business in hand and that is winning this strike through solidarity and placing trust in our leadership. Yea they might make mistakes - that's what happens when human beings are involved. But as long as the good calls outweigh the bad then we will support them.
After the strike is won then we can have a look and see what we could have done better in case there is a next time and AL comes back for another go.
WUM - you just don't understand do you - RM doesn't give a toss for your business or whether you go down the tubes. They are only interested in the major mailers - you might not like it but that's the reality. Strangely, we are your only hope so you should be supporting us and not knocking us.
