Possibility or big fat lie? Just signed up for Bird Hall Lane, was supposed to be doing every day but they inadvertantly put me in for a day I cant do so have swapped me to weekends whilst the assurance that there will be plenty OT for me to pick up during the week. Of course I have heard all this before so wondering if it is actually true or whether I ask for another definite full time shift!

Chances are you will get offered as many shifts as you want
High chance you'll be offered whenever you want it. My Contracted hours are 2pm-10pm but iv been offered 2pm-4am or 10am-10pm from my second day onwards....
According to pals who work for RM, packets are through the roof already and only going to get worse. It'll be all hands on deck come the middle of December.

I'm working there too as of the 26th! night shift though, all training done no mention of any OT THOUGH I did see some 'reserve' people brought in

Hope you're right. Angard brought 92 casuals onto a shift at ManchMC earlier in the week to put a dent in the stuff that was piling up. But since then I've not had any notifications. Called tonight and they say its gone quiet again...... truth or not, its one of the downsides of these zero hours contracts.
No mention of MDEC overtime to our Stockport intake last week. They've brought in big numbers of casuals which would suggest that they're planning to cover everything without resorting to OT. I'll ask them what the forecast is when I go in at the weekend.
Thanks for the replies guys. I did ask quickly about it today and was told as I was training this weekend it was unlikely I would get much OT next week (I couldnt connect the two either), really really annoyed though as I was supposed to be doing a full 35 hour shift next week not 2 days!
On the other hand it was an interesting day what with the guy fainting right in front of me when we first got there and the first aider telling me it was his third last week. And now I'm off to bed with a headache from all that info they tried to cram into my head today!
I know you dont get paid extra for OT, I just want some hours! Amazingly I did manage to pass those flipping assessments this weekend, its going to be an interesting job I can tell
