Flexibility

In response to Adam Crozierâ€™s comments this morning, Dave Ward, deputy general secretary, said:

â€œWhat Royal Mail has got at the moment is a dedicated, hard working and flexible workforce. To get their work done within their hours postal workers are carrying more mail than they should, not taking their breaks, and using their own cars to take mail out on deliveries. This all ensures flexibility for Royal Mail.

â€œAdam Crozier has not been involved in the recent talks and does not understand the specific issues around this deal. By driving through his idea of flexibility Royal Mail will lose the good faith of postal workers.â€

I thought the interviewer on radio4 did a good job on Crozier. Went for the throat and made him sound ridiculous really.

Didn't take the interviewer to make him sound ridiculous . . . . . he did that all by himself with all that bullshit being spouted in his "camper than Dale Winton" voice

Don't you believe it. That was a classic agit prop presentation designed to appeal to middle England/Daily Mail readers and as such Crozier was very efficient.

The impression the uninformed and ignorant public are left with is that we are all paid for work we don't do.

Well when I started YOU worked your time, Crozier you introduced this Spanish practise, job and finish ,from my experience the union always opposed this as a dangerous sop to grease the wheels for SDD, funny he did not mention this.

Bloody good point . . . . .I'd almost forgotten it was him that introduced SDD and therefore "job-and-knock" so he's having a pop at a practice he introduced himsef . . . . . . . :cfo . . . .oh he just keeps getting better

Remember it well billypants, at the meeting back in the day when they were trying to get SDD in, to polish the t**d the screw blurted out 'it'll be job and knock', thought then if people grab this carrot on a stick and start tearing round like lunatics it will bite us all on the a**e. . . . . .

we all remember that . . . it's the fact that the job-and-knock incentive was Croziers idea and now he's havin a go at us in the press for doing just that . . . . . don't know which of his faces I'd like to slap first
