HAVE YOUR SAY surveys

Post by Carnoustie »

OK it's that pointless-waste-of-ink time of year again, when we have to fill out a stupid questionaire.

Is it just me or has anyone ever seen anything change at their office as a direct result of a comment made on a HYS survey ? And what's this bullshit that management give us about all our forms being strictly confidential and anonoymous ?
If that's true, then why do they ask for info about age, gender, racial backgound, and whether we're full-time or part-time ? Most people in my office think we should falsify our personal details so that the answers we give cannot be traced back to any individual :Very Happy :dance

Any thoughts ?

For some reason i've only done a few in about 10 yrs,and yes just pointless.
But tbh,i can't rem what the questions were like it was that long ago since i done 1.
But i do rem it being a waste of time, naff all changes.

It is really good to get support from outside my own office on this issue ! I made some strong criticisms of managers last time, without naming them individually, and my comments were then mysteriously absent from the ones displayed once the results came back. If I had kicked up a fuss and asked 'where are my comments, then?' I would then have revealed to the screws just who had made the comments that upset them so much  , so the whole thing is a piss-take if you ask me :mad

Postman, almost all the questions are really carefully-worded statements, with which you have to consider whether you
a) STRONGLY AGREE
b) AGREE
c) NEITHER AGREE NOR DISAGREE
d) DISAGREE
e) STRONGLY DISAGREE or
f) DON'T KNOW / COULDN'T GIVE A TOSS

What they should have, for each question, is a space to explain why you gave the answer you gave. This is what I would put if they did ....

I understand how my bonus scheme works Agree. I get feck all, no matter what the workload
I can freely approach my line manager and discuss issues that impact upon my working life
Agree. But he still wont let me have that Comp day I want
My line manager says well done when it is deserved :funneh WHAT PLANET ARE YOU PEOPLE ON ??
In my workplace, people are treated fairly Disagree. We never get taken to the zoo or Alton Towers :dance
Is your contract permanent or temporary ? You'd best ask Allan Leighton
Do you work full-time or part-time Full-time for now, but see answer to previous question
Do you consider yourself to have a disability ? YES, MY LINE MANAGER
