Six Royal Mail ramblers from Romford raised nearly £2,000 for Cancer Research UK with a sponsored walk last month.

The workers set off from their Sandgate Close depot at 11am on August 25, walking first to Royal Mail’s Ilford delivery office and then back to Rush Green – a total of 10 miles.

Chhinder Gill, who took part in the walk, said the group had doubled its fundraising target.

“We weren’t expecting this much, but we got a lot of help from our colleagues,” he said. “We were collecting in a bucket during the walk as well.”
