Understanding my Tracking
Hello I ordered GTA V from Amazon and it was dispatched yesterday apparently via Tracked 48.
It has been at this since yesterday
14-SEP-2013 17:32 Outward RDC Handheld Acceptance Princess Royal Distribution Centre
Firstly can someone tell me what" Outward RDC Handheld Acceptance" means
2nd, can somebody tell me if sometimes an item can move and it will not be tracked and just arrive
Also do Royal Mail move items between Distribution centres on Sundays Because I live in the North (west yorkshire) and the centre my package is at is in London(next to wembley) which is weird
Thank you

Re: Understanding my Tracking
Should have gone by road on Saturday night and probably in Warrington but the first time it will be bar coded will be when it gets to delivery office early Monday morning or if not Tuesday morning. Hope this helps

ah ok.. does the Outward RDC mean it was scanned to leave the depot in London?cloherty1976 wrote:Should have gone by road on Saturday night and probably in Warrington but the first time it will be bar coded will be when it gets to delivery office early Monday morning or if not Tuesday morning. any idea why it has not been updated in 24 hours(does it not get a scan in warrington at all).. does this happen sometimes and it will just arrive at my house or what? It is scheduled to arrive Tuesday morning obviously
I guess it only scans in at the post office and than it will scan out for delivery again?Am I correct?
thank you by the way

Re: Understanding my Tracking
I am just a driver but if it went by road as it could have gone by train also and don't know exactly when they leave. I am sure I would next get bar coded at the delivery office but could be wrong. Most tracked items are second class but I am sure you will see it in delivery office by Tuesday morning latest.

Ok thank you for your help than, was just wondering why it had not updated, would seem silly to hold something for over 24hours in a place that looks as busy as that London Depot.
By Delivery office you mean my post office or the place that will deliver it to me correct?
And yes I believe it was Tracked 48, which counts as second class correct?

Re: Understanding my Tracking
Your local delivery office is the place they deliver from and not the post office you take your letters and packets to. Hope this makes it a little clearer

Re: Understanding my Tracking
Yes that is what I meant, couldnt think of the word for it but I know where it is and what it is :)(nothing like a post office)cloherty1976 wrote:Your local delivery office is the place they deliver from and not the post office you take your letters and packets to. Just a thought if you see it gone to ndc that's just north of northhampton and heading in right direction it might be scanned there too

Re: Understanding my Tracking
I would hope it is going in the right direction, like I said it has not updated in 26 hours now since it has been at "Princess Royal Distribution Centre" which is in London...I can believe what you said about it leaving and not being tracked until its at the delivery stage for many reasons:)cloherty1976 wrote:Just a thought if you see it gone to ndc that's just north of northhampton and heading in right direction it might be scanned there too
Will the tracker update all the steps along the way or will it just pop up and say its at my delivelry place

Re: Understanding my Tracking
It might not show it's tracked as being tracked 48 travelling at weekend. The big hubs like princess royal are ndc and Warrington . All I know are these scanning machines I have seen at princess royal and at ndc but never been to Warrington so presume they have this equipment. Delivery offices scan by hand so if you see it at your local area it will be delivered shortly. Hope this helps

Re: Understanding my Tracking
Ah ok, can you tell me if it would make sense for them to keep a package at Princess royal since 17:00 yesterday when it is at the opposite end of the country to where I live and they can get it somewhere closer like you said Warrington ;)cloherty1976 wrote:It might not show it's tracked as being tracked 48 travelling at weekend. Re: Understanding my Tracking
I thought that GTA was due out on Tuesday...........which is why the tracking information is the way it is, to be tracked up to and then delivered on Tuesday.
They probably would get into trouble if these where delivered earlier.

WTF GTAV?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Understanding my Tracking
It is out on Tuesday but I am asking because my order according to the "tracking" is sitting at the opposite end of the country for over a day now.DGP1 wrote:I thought that GTA was due out on Tuesday...........which is why the tracking information is the way it is, to be tracked up to and then delivered on Tuesday.

Also I am pretty sure Amazon are already in "trouble" as quite A LOT of people had there copies delivered to them on Saturday.. a full four days before release..
".which is why the tracking information is the way it is, to be tracked up to and then delivered on Tuesday."
I am not quite sure what you mean by this? I would of though they would At least move my parcel somewhere closer to me and I don't see royal mail holding onto mail because of a "release date" .. how would they even know what is in the parcel

Re: Understanding my Tracking
GDP1 understands what the codes mean better than me because I have no idea but on the driving side it takes 4-5 hours prdc to Warrington so if it leaves latest Monday you should get it Tuesday .
