Royal Mail staff lack confidence in bosses

Less than a third of Royal Mail workers have confidence in decisions made by the senior management team, led by Chief Executive Moya Greene.

14% have say they have been bullied or harassed in the workplace, mostly by immediate line managers and only a third (34%) say the senior management team communicate a clear vision.

The details emerged after a Freedom of Information revealed data from Royal Mail’s annual employee feedback survey.

Speaking to the Telegraph the Communication Workers Union said: “Postal workers clearly don’t have confidence in many business decisions being taken, which they see putting pressure on their everyday working lives without improving services for customers.”

I certainly dont have any confidence in bosses, the managers in our office are just Company lackkies, they haven't got a clue, one day they say one thing next its a different story, they make it up as they go along, I dont know why they call them managers as they are just failed Postmen/Postwomen that couldn't do the job, were lazy and useless and so opted to be line managers to get out of plodding the streets.

The management in this company, top, middle, and bottom, is simply atrocious.

For the last 15 years they seem only to have two reasons for existing.

1. To make the working day as hellish as possible for OPGs.

2. To overpay themselves hugely, despite the very little they actually do.

Small wonder there is even a small percentage of colleagues who somehow have faith in that self-serving shower.

The small percentage were probably the ones that are or were on the WCM programme and having to do fck all except paint pictures.

Didnt the report into the privatisation (forgot the name of the report) say management weren't up to the job?
They always forgot to mention that bit when they were touting it as justification for the privatisation.

Front-line managers in Royal Mail have traditionally seen their role as
authoritarian and purely directive, to tell employees what they are supposed to
do and to keep constant checks to see that they are doing it. They have not
been encouraged to see their role as involving the motivation of employees or
coaching or supporting employees in order to develop their skills or initiative.
