Rather, whats the next step for Royal Mail? The CWU has already announced rolling strikes until a resolution is found...the ball is firmly in RM's court.

If RM are so arrogant as to deliberately flake on a settlement by neglecting the views of some 130,000 workers then they are utterly stupid.

The word `stupid` and R/Mail go together quite well. As also Al & Crozier.

The rolling strikes is the better choice for me,at least we will still be earning and to my surprise it had a good effect last time.

Are the two sides in question meeting today to try and reach a settlement?

I agree with the rolling strikes it was brilliant turning
up for work last time to a few trays of mail cos the
drivers were out the day before!!! Thats what got
em negotiating last time so it obviously works....

Why dont we strike for the last two hours of our duty that way we would lose very little in the way of pay and cause alot of disruption.All the cwu need to do is ballot us.We did this twice a week we'd have a mountain of undelieverd mail.

all out and within a week the trickle of posties turning up for work will turn into a stream of posties turning up for work because nowadays the majority own their own homes with mortgages and credit cards to pay and the strike would be over after 2 weeks with a shattered union and workforce

Personally, I would keep it to the one day rolling strikes. I think taking 2 hrs off each day would create confusion and bad feeling. Keep it simple we know it works.

WELL SAID Prestwick

My dad and grandad were in the postal dispute of the early 70's and they both say it was completely pointless. They were out for weeks and in the end got just .5% more as a face saving offer from the GPO. Times have moved on and the vast amount of our guys and gals have got to have some form of income to pay their mortgages etc. Some may afford an allout strike but it will NEVER be supported by the majority who WILL support odd days and rolling strikes. In my office out of 40 about 8 came in, so for the first time in the 30+ years i have worked there we organised a picket line...........we had 1 come in the last 2 days and we had a good laugh on the line with a bbq and tea AND I MIGHT ADD plenty of support from the public. Let's stop all this rubbish about ALLOUT and get on with what we are doing...........WE WILL WIN IN THE END....................BRING IT ON :cfo :lfo
