Our General secetary is 'a former Liverpool shop steward'.
Are they suggesting he is a communist!

Here perhaps they are suggesting he abandoned his working class roots!
Then there is Mr Hutton Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform.
''A close ally of Tony Blair''
What does this suggest!
''He was educated at Westcliffe High School, Essex, and Magdalen College Oxford.'' The Oxford education needed no explaination!
The message appears clear - This is no deprived school (Westcliffe high is a selective Grammar) but Billy's is not worthy of a mention.

So as i said if you read the entire Telegraph article they do not mention where Billy was educated!
So there who have it, the underlying message is that the Telegraph view it as a battle between one working class ignorant scouser, who has partly redemed himself by moving to the south and Mr Hutton of sound academic pedigree (Grammar and Oxford) who is really a conservative (Blairite).
