Union leaders representing Royal Mail staff are warning of widespread strike action across Bristol as part of a dispute over changes to conditions.
The Communications Workers Union (CWU) said the company had set "unrealistic targets" and was refusing to honour an agreement for increased summer leave.
The CWU said staff in Fishponds had asked for a strike ballot, adding other branches were expected to follow suit.
Royal Mail said it would issue a statement later.
CWU spokesman David Wilshire said postal bosses had introduced "unworkable changes" to delivery patterns.
