Stand alone pension?

Post by heapsy »

As we are facing yet another attack on our terms and conditions, especially our pension, how about starting a new scheme?
Why don't the union start a new pension with pooled contributions paid through payroll? If this was done, there would NOT be a contribution from RM but it would still attract tax relief from the government.
Pooling contributions would mean a much lower charge as regards running costs, than the individual trying to do their best with their own money alone, therefore more money would be invested.

Have a read of this:
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/pensionschemes/register.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If I read it correctly, I don't think a union is allowed to set up a pension scheme.
