As baldrick suggested last night, instead of throwing cash at the Labour Party, the CWU should be taking out full-page adverts in all the national papers putting our side of the argument. Let's face it, it's got to be safer than allowing Lord Hayes of Copperas Hill on the box again.mh80 wrote:http://newsforums.bbc.co.uk/nol/thread. ... #paginator

Here here i've been saying this from the start put full page adverts in national press and let the public know what is really going on, is it me or is that not simple enough or common sense. Sometimes i think our own union are out of touch, so [please hurry up and tell the public the truth about royal mails real aims and what loss our pesions, jobs and will be.IWW Fellow Worker wrote:As baldrick suggested last night, instead of throwing cash at the Labour Party, the CWU should be taking out full-page adverts in all the national papers putting our side of the argument. My advice to you it to stop reading the s**t posted on these websites. The fact of the matter is that the public in general don't give a s**t for anyone but themselves. Thanks to the likes of Thatcher and those who followed her we have become a nation of self centred, greedy, look after number one, my house is worth.... blah, blah, blah, sh***s. It's a fact of life that people are just not interested in our situation. If we were only paid minimum wage it would be too much for some people. It's nice to hear support from certain members of the public and from publications such as the Daily Mirror but they are in a minority. If I sound bitter and twisted then that's because I am. But I prefer to take the positive messages from this forum and the solidarity and banter from my colleagues on the picket lines as an inspiration that we can win this action against Royal Mail.
I also agree that we should withdraw our funding from the Labour Party, at least until they start giving us some back up. Brown has shown he does not support us so why should we support him?
Down with the blackleg, all workers unite.
