The whole village of Bow Brickhill held a tea-party to honour their postman, Bill Smith, who served the village for 38 years by delivering post and helping its residents in many others ways.

Bill, who had to give up the round because of mobility problems, is still working for Royal Mail but on light duties.

He was presented with an engraved photo frame by Peter Lousada.

Mary Preen, who organised the event said:
"We all love Bill because he's been so dedicated to us for such a long time. I can't begin to list all the services he's provided for Bow Brickhill, but it was a testimony to his dedication and the excellence of his service to us that everyone came along to thank him. We hope that he'll still consider himself to be part of our community and that we'll see him and his family at future village events."
