BRISTOL'S Royal Mail choir, which shot to fame in a TV talent contest, has released a charity single.
The posties, who starred in The Choir on BBC Two, have teamed up with X Factor winner Joe McElderry to record a version of the famous hymn Abide with Me.
The song has a historic link with the FA Cup and the single has just been released ahead of a special run of 11 stamps dedicated to celebrated footballers from the UK.
Choir leader Tim Barber said: "We've got 30 postmen, postwomen, delivery office, mail centre staff and managers singing their hearts out for charity.
"Joe's a brilliant singer and he's been enormously helpful – we're all really proud of the song and delighted Joe agreed to take part."
On top of money raised by sales, Royal Mail has promised to donate £1 to Prostate Cancer UK for every download.
The charity has been in partnership with Royal Mail since last year, with around £800,000 having been raised so far.
Royal Mail and its staff aim to raise at least £2 million for Prostate Cancer UK over the course of the partnership, in order to fund up to 50 Prostate Cancer UK nurses.
