LTB 80/13 SPECIAL REPORT TO THE CWU POSTAL POLICY FORUM
To: All Branches with Postal Members
Dear Colleague
SPECIAL REPORT TO THE CWU POSTAL POLICY FORUM
ON THE 13TH MARCH 2013
NATIONAL TALKS - THE FUTURE OF THE
ROYAL MAIL GROUP
In recent weeks, the Union has become increasingly concerned at the actions of the Royal Mail Group with regard to outstanding Business Transformation issues, the announcement that Royal Mail is now a parcels company and the fact that the company is actively promoting privatisation in the workplace.
In these circumstances, the Postal Executive has agreed that it is appropriate for the CWU to take stock of the overall situation and refocus our industrial agenda. We have attached to this LTB a Special Report with associated recommendations that will be placed before a CWU Postal Policy Forum on the 13th March 2013.
As reported in LTB 79/13, the Union will also be holding a National Briefing on the 12th March, covering all the issues arising from the Postal Services Act and focusing in particular on the 'Save our Royal Mail' Campaign. All Postal Branches will understand the importance of this two day event and should ensure that the content of the Special Report is conveyed to all local representatives and CWU members in the workplace.
Any enquiries on the general content of this LTB and the Special Report should be directed to the DGS (P). Any specific functional enquiries relating to the Special Report should be directed to the relevant Assistant Secretary.
Yours sincerely
Dave Ward
Deputy General Secretary (Postal)
