Titan showroom manager beat up and injured a postman for throwing a letter inside the shop

The Vashi police have arrested the manager of a Titan showroom located at sector 17 in Vashi after he allegedly beat up and injured a postman for throwing a letter inside the shop instead of handing over to anyone.

The postman is attached to Vashi post office.

On Tuesday at around 1.30 p.m., the postman identified as Parshuram Sanglekar (41) was busy on his duty of delivering letters. While carrying out his duty, he also went to Titan Showroom and threw a letter inside the shop from the entrance of the shop. The act provoked the shop manager who then called him and engulfed into argument.

“The manager Chintan P. (28), who saw Sanglekar from his cabin, called him back to the showroom and began abusing him. Sanglekar, replied that Chintan doesn’t have any rights to scold a government employee with such an abusive language,” informed an on duty officer from Vashi police station.

“Getting infuriated Chintan then slapped Sanglekar and started beating him with a stick. Chintan then threw Sanglekar out of his office and Sanglekar rammed into the steel gate of the showroom losing his balance. He sustained severe injury on his head,” he added.

Meanwhile, a few onlookers informed the Vashi police about the incident. Vashi police reached there arrested Chintan.

“We rushed to the spot just after getting the information and found Sanglekar lying near the gate. He was bleeding profusely and we admitted him to Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation hospital in Vashi with the help of a few local shopkeepers. He is now out of danger,” the officer added.

The police have booked Chintan under sections 353 and 332 of Indian Penal Code and he will be presented before the court on Wednesday morning.
