how actually do you sign in and out at royal mail?

have had my first day and at the end of it (10pm) asked my line manager if i was ok to go and had to do anything before that and she replied "no that's fine, you can go now" so I don't really get it - have I signed out or not?

No, you only sign in, your manager signs everyone out.

I sign in with a start time, end time and my signature at the reception desk. At the end of the shift you can just go. If you had to sign out, I'm sure you would have been told.

I sign in with start time and finnish time, but i also sign out too.

I have to sign out at the end of the shift.

So do I. On my previous stints the manager told everyone to go and he would sign us out,but this time we have to write in the finish time alongside where we signed in ourselves.

The first day we didn't have to sign out, the second I put my start and finish times in at the start of the shift but yesterday and from now on I'm signing out at the end
