Real reason for early starts

Post by felang13 »

There has been some confusion about the real reason for early starts ,and if you were to listen to the RM spin its all about the vehicle speed restrictions .The real reason ,and all those in deliveries will have noticed is that the early morning mech bundles have been getting a lot bigger .This is due to a large amount of mail going through the mech machines that are being updated with the new A+ software or in English the walk sequencing software .Unfortunately as this software is new the mail has to pass through the system 2-3 times , making the arrival at delivery offices that much later .So in response to mr leightons yarn that the late starts are down to vehicle speed legislation ,goes against the other yarn that he commonly force feeds the media that he is a man of No Bullshit .... Wasn't it cold today Brrr

Maybe we could get this pinned. I just knew something wasn't adding up with speed restrictions and later start times!!

Walk sequencing machines work on a 3 pass system which means all mail has to go through the machine 3 times.5000 letters take about 45 minutes to be sequenced saving the average delivery person a few minutes per tray.
Also a maximum of 5000 letters can be processed in 1 batch which means the sequencing machines in delivery offices can hardly keep up with the output from a mail centre.

These sequencing machines are designed for the future when muppets have 1 bag delivered to their house to deliver while they walk to the shops.

nothing to do with getting rid of the early start allowance and saving around £800 a year per full timer on delivery then

24601 is probably right . we know they have have looked at various delivery formats and holland is 15 hours a week (tnt) go on their website have a look for yourself.3 hours a day ,under 16 hours means no employment rights either.
