Chances of a permanent job..
Hi.
This is probably a little premature as my interview is tomorrow for a Xmas temp job in Nottingham.
However, having been unemployed for 8 months now I am desperate for a full time permanent job.
So, after Xmas, what are the odds of being kept on ?
I am being employed for Xmas via the RM directly, or so the email addresses lead me to believe.
Anyone ?
Thanks..

I would not go getting your hopes up, im sure there will be one or two examples, but unless there is an second Christmas at the end of January, I would not expect to be kept on.

I would not expect to be kept on as a permanent by Royal Mail. I would expect any Royal Mail permanent positions to be offered to current Angard casuals ahead of Christmas casuals.
The best I would hope for is to be transferred to the Angard casual pool that works throughout the year (with no guarantee of work any week).
On the other hand, with both Royal Mail and Angard what someone may expect and what might happen can be completely different.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
