The Royal Mail has lost 4,000 employees through retirement or redundancy since March 2011, the business reported on Friday.

According to Terry Macalister's report, Royal Mail chief executive Moya Greene said the reduction in staff for the year ending 25 March 2012 had cost the company £77m. She added that the departures had been achieved with the agreement of the union.

Details of Greene's renumeration during this period is expected to be revealed on Friday and our reporting team are keen to hear from individuals who worked for the Royal Mail and left between March 2011 and 2012 and want to share their experiences of working at the company during this time. I have been given 3 weeks to arrange my family circumstances so they can change my hours. I have been told that the hours I work no longer fit their structure. They want me to start at my current finish time. So basically, been given 3 weeks to look for a new job. Ironic getting my 10 year service award and my P45 within months of each other. Part timers are treated as an afterthought. Family friendly flexible hours seem to be only on paper, when it comes to practice - they don't follow it.
I loved my job and hate the idea of having to leave. My hours were perfect for my situation. So many people in my office have been messed around. It seems they treat us all bad so we will walk, rather than cost them money to give the Voluntary redundancy that keeps being dangled just out of reach.

My mistake, wasnt even given the 3 weeks, was meant to be on new hours today, guess the job hunt begins in earnest now :(
