Open weekend for Twickenham sorting office application

An open weekend on the future use of the former sorting office in Twickenham will be held to allow residents to have their say.

St James, which is part of the Berkeley Group, has recently purchased the site with the intention of using it for flats, with some mixed-use.

The Vision for Twickenham Sorting Office community planning weekend will run from 2pm to 7pm on Friday, March 23, and from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, March 24, at Richmond Adult and Community College (RACC) in Clifden Road, Twickenham.

St James has appointed John Thompson & Partners (JTP) as architects and to facilitate the community planning process.

Speaking at the launch of the community planning weekend held in February, Charles Campion from JTP said: “We hope that as many people as possible will come along to the weekend to help us to develop a new vision for the future of this important site. Everyone is welcome.”

The JTP-led project team will analyse and summarise the outcomes of the event and prepare a plan for the future, which will be reported back to the community on Wednesday, April 25, at RACC.
