Premier League footballer Kevin Davies kicked his training into touch to spend a day as a postman at Bolton mail centre in October.

As part of the mystery guest feature on BBC sports quiz show A Question of Sport last night, the Trotters striker was filmed in front of the cameras sorting mail and loading it into a van as if he was going out on his walk.

The mystery guest round on the show asks contestants to guess the famous sports star from a series of clips of them out of their normal working environment.

'Good bloke'
Davies, who has scored more than 60 goals for Wanderers since moving to the Reebok in 2003, also took the time to chat to postmen and women working on the day.

Lifelong fan Jim Molloy says: ‘Kevin is a well-respected player and I thought he was a good bloke too.

‘I came back from delivery that day and was curious what all the big crowds were about, so I went over. I didn’t expect to find that!

‘It was a good story to tell my mates down the pub.’
