Man is arrested over Royal Mail van hijack

A 25-year-old man has been arrested after a Royal Mail vehicle was hijacked at knife point in west Belfast.

The driver was forced from the vehicle at Carrigart Avenue at about 10:50 GMT on Saturday morning.

The van was driven towards the Shaw's Road and Lenadoon Avenue areas of the city where it crashed into the wall and railings of a house.

It is not believed that anyone was injured during the incident.
