P/L Question

Post by eastie »

My Driver on P/L comes in 30 minutes early unpaid whilst I come in at my right start time .
Then before we go out I have my meal relief whilst the driver doesnt.
That makes my Driver over 1 hour ahead .
He goes out whilst I'm on my meal relief to deliver packets and then comes back for me.
Bearing in mind that Walkers loops are 5-10 minutes longer than the drivers because the driver has delivered lots of packets and parcels already, he gets to sit in the van 10 minutes per loop waiting for me.
If you then go back to me having my meal relief and the driver not, he is getting up to 5 x 10 minute breaks per round but his finish time is 40 minutes earlier due to not having a meal relief at work.
Thus the driver gets an additional 40 minutes O/T for nothing.
Shouldnt all staff start at the same time and all have a meal relief because this is farcical and the DOM doesn't want to know

Yes, it is farcical. You can always slap in a grievance against the DOM for not wanting to know and endear yourself against all your colleagues? Otherwise it's a bit of rubbish situation you find yourself in

Why should you care? Just work your hours and let your buddy do whatever he wants, if he's finishing early then he can take your loops too otherwise he has to wait on you :thumbup

He SHOULDN'T be coming in early and he SHOULD have a break.
What would happen if the driver cut off at 2.15pm having not had a meal relief whilst me the walker had to work an additional 40 minutes having had a meal relief finished at 2.55pm who would pick me up ??
its a bloody joke this P/L

This is almost as stupid as my P&L buddy, I was full time, him PT, his finish was 3pm mine 3:30 pm, he insisted on finishing at 3pm, by the time I got back to the duty it was time to turn round and go back to the office so that I finished on time.

P&L is joke, we are now ditching the trolleys, and working from pouches again, mainly because our trolleys are knackered in one way or another, and we can't get replacements.

If the statutory equipment for P&L is breaking and damage is being reported to managers, I do not believe for one second that replacements cannot be sourced. They are stringing you along because they know full well that by getting you to deliver by pouch makes the unachievable LWT walks become more achieveable without o/t or cut-offs.

What are your depot reps doing about this?
