Tickets to London 2012
Wednesday 25 January
Do you know someone who has put in an Olympic effort to help modernise our operations?
Nominate them in our special London 2012 ticket giveaway and they could be off to watch the opening ceremony of the Games in July.
We have 10 pairs of tickets to the event on 27 July up for grabs, to recognise people who have demonstrated an exceptional contribution to transforming our operations.
Outstanding contribution
People may have made a difference improving safety, through the World Class Mail programme or introducing new delivery methods.
Only frontline Royal Mail operational colleagues can be nominated.
How to nominate
Email your nominations and put Olympic nomination and your region or function in the subject box – eg Olympic nomination South West.
Tell us the person’s name, job and location and a description of why you think they deserve to win, plus don’t forget your name, email, phone number and work location.
Entries will be collated regionally and judged against the modernisation criteria
Get your nominations in quick – the closing date is 17 February 2012.
Winners will be notified in March.
Good luck!

Now we know why...
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Now we know why...
Will they get the day off? Will they have to use holiday leave or special leave. Will it count as sick?
Obviously the answer to the above is NO! They, after all, are looking for those who "demonstrated an exceptional contribution to transforming our operations". Us, mere mortals, need not apply......thankfully.

There's a shift manager at my local DO who "demonstrated an exceptional contribution to transforming our operations".
He left the business on VR

Ten people on the world class mail team surely. To go with the two days extra annual leave they've been given, the expensive restaurant meal night out and being able to go home one and a half hours early.

No tickets to issue then as no modernisation has occurred. Just a higgledy piggledy mess of changes that have transferred the business into a creaking shipwreck.

"watch the opening ceremony of the Games in July"
I would rather sit in my back garden wathching the grass grow in July.
