Had a start date but no job

Post by rampager »

Been seeing all the post about pay problems and seems I was lucky that I never got a shift although I did get an email with start date.

My story goes like this>

Wed 7th Dec: Got a phone call from Angard asking if I still want a shift as some going Norwich outer hub, I declined this one as the location is hard to reach by public transport and I asked to be left on the list for Norwich central or Lowestoft (better for me ), He said that is fine.

Thurs 8th Dec: received an email saying ”On behalf of Angard Staffing I am pleased to confirm your offer of the role of Christmas Casual - Lowestoft Delivery Office. Please read this email and the attached documents carefully as they contain important information.

The first day of your assignment is Start Date is 09 Dec 2011, your shift time will be 09.00 - 15.00, There may be an opportunity to work overtime, this will be offered on site locally.” Cool I thought

Fri 9th Dec: Turned up just after 8:30 ready for my shift only to find manager there was not expecting anyone and did not need any extra staff, Told me to ring Angard which I tried several times that day only to find a recorded message saying that they are too busy and to email them.
Well i did email them but never got a reply so gave up.

Sun 11th Dec: Got a phone call from Angard payroll Dept asking for bank details as they have been entered in wrong? and lost pay form I filled in.
I told him about turning up Friday and no shift and he said not my dept and to ring the other number . Yh lol tried that.

Well like I said never got a reply from Angard but still says when I log into the website "Status: HIRED AND START DATE AGREED" lol really?

Oh well back to job hunting

Sounds to me like you had a 'lucky' escape. Since most of us are still expecting money from December - i wish you well finding PAID work elsewhere!
