Posted my last letter today. Have a new job that pays more money, gives me Saturdays off and frees me from all the bullshit from this bunch of absolute c***ts that call themselves managers at Royal Mail. It was not a difficult decision to make but my resolve to go was firmed up earlier in the week when a bloke at our office was threatened with conduct code for not attending a voluntary meeting. But today I heard something that really took the biscuit.

After I had thrown out the manager told me to prep another walk (and followed me around the office until I did) - yes, this is on my last day. Anyway, the reason this walk was up was because the postie had gone off with stress. He is one of half a dozen in the office being grilled over harrassment complaints by a woman who is also currently off on stress. Amongst the incidents she alleges are a postman who "said good morning in a sarcastic way". But the chap who is off has apparently gone around the office encouraging others to harrass and bully this woman. As far as I can see there is no one to support this allegation and no direct evidence of this chap (whose only sin as far as I can make it is making some silly noises in the office) ever saying anything derogatory either to, or about, this woman. My own opinion is that the bloke would simply would not do this and furthermore, there is absolutely no reason why he would.

I know that there have been serious incidents of bullying at RM, but do they really have to hound people onto the sick who have done absolutely nothing wrong because one woman is tired of her job and wants a payout.

Anyway I'm off to get pissed.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Thanks folks.

It is sad to go, when I started I really loved the job and the people I work with are great. But this opportunity literally doppped in my lap. Anyway, I was told by the Union rep that I should get any pay rise that's comming (the backdated bit) - so I can still bitch about that for a while.

I very much doubt that, if you have left they will not pay you back pay,not sure your rep should be saying that.
