My unhappy experience with RM/Angard/Reed

Post by beachcomber10 »

My situation is very similar to many others on this forum;
Applied direct to RM
`Interview' with RM/Angard @ airport hotel early November
`offered position at 1st choice DO to start 21 November subject to CRB
Received nothing from Angard, so on 21 Nov turned up for first shift. DO Manager had no confirmation of CRB received or contract issued for self & 5 other casuals.
No luck in contact Angard, on 5th December went to DO again, Manager had no news but gave me contact mobile No for Angard person.
Phoned & left 4 messages, on 5th attempt mobile was answered by factotum who advised contact was on leave!
Phone on 13th & got through to a PW of Angard in Brighton!!
Summary:
CRB/security check received :-)
No work at local DO :-(
PW asked if I'd work elsewhere, yes & i'm still waiting since last week for a call to say go to x DO!!
Following contact details:-
PW of Angard 07508 730140 or 01903 229 191
Good luck, I've given up but have reported the issue to:
DWP, Job Centre+ who have been taking ads from Angard for casual staff on the JC+ web site
BBC Radio 4 You & Yours consumer programme
Good luck, hope you all get paid & a Merry Christmas

From what I gather if you don't have a contract from them then you don't have a case. Everybody who attended a registration event was issued a provisional offer. That didn't mean that everyone had a guaranteed job. One of the main problems with Angard seems to be communication.
