I returned to work!

Post by Britvic55 »

Just an update to my post on Friday. Following a 2nd payment last week, still short of the correct amount, but more than the insult of the first payment that prompted my walkout. I returned to work. I didn't know whether my name would still be on the list, as for all I knew I'd been replaced by a Manpower casual. Anyway, I decided to firstly check the list, then seek out the top man & ask him whether or not he wanted me to return to work. I didn't want to sign in & then get told to **** off & look a ***t. Before I reached the signing in desk, I met him in the corridor. I said my bit & was told that I could work. I also asked for his assurance that I wouldn't be victimised. He seemed a little taken aback by this, but assured me that I wouldn't be. He was touring the building with a member of the office team talking to the Angard Casuals about their pay problems. Unlike another manager, who just said that we work for Angard, this is the tel no & good luck! I signed in,& went to the sorting room, where I work. I was expecting to be put in the naughty corner & put on facing! I wasn't. I got positive feedback from most people. I detected some negative undertones from predictable people. But although I lost 2 days pay, I'm glad that I took that course of action & yes I would do it again. Je ne regrette rien as Edith Piaf once said. Oh & I was offered overtime on Saturday, & yes I did do it. But no reply from Moya, didn't expect one though!
