I rang today to find out why I hadn't been paid for the last two weeks work to find out that they did not have my bank details or any record of my start date. I gave them my details and reminded the pay section that as I was over 65 I do no pay N.I.. The reply was that the tax office would sort this out at the end of the tax year! I then asked to speak to the supervisor, a very helpful lady called Emily, who asked me to e mail something to prove I was over 65 so that N.I would not be deducted when I eventually got paid. The N.I. exemption certificate was locked away and not available. I sent the required details but am not holding my breath that all will be sorted out by Friday.
