Dear Colleagues,

Motion 67

CWU Annual Conference 2011 carried the following motion:

“Conference notes the propositions that were passed at CWU Womens Conference in February this year, calling for the action to be taken to implement Rule 2 fully, and agrees that it is time that the CWU implemented its obligations under that Rule.

Therefore the National Executive Council, in with the Advisory Committees, is instructed to draw up a set of proposals on how to achieve this across all parts of the Union, and bring forward a motion to General Conference 2012, along with the necessary rule changes”.

Before work commenced in examining how the motion and rule can be implemented it was felt that in the first instance, an examination should be made of the CWU as an employer.

The study has been put together by the General Secretary’s Office and CWU Human Resource Office. An analysis has been given by the Head of Research, Natalie Jacottet.

Any points of detail should be raised with the General Secretary by Monday, December 12th Latest.
