City Link opens Bournemouth depot

City Link has opened a 36,000 sq ft depot at Aviation Business Park within Bournemouth International Airport.

The new depot has 100 staff, and handles some 25,000 deliveries and 18,000 collections every week.

City Link has signed a 15 year lease with commercial property business MAG Developments for the site as part of a multi-million pound investment.

Steve Jones, general manager of City Link’s Bournemouth depot, said: “The previous building served a useful purpose over an eight-year period but in those eight years our customer base and the expectations of our customers have seen a dramatic change. With these extra demands this new, purpose-built facility was overdue.”

The new facility also serves customers in Salisbury, Weymouth, Lyme Regis and New Milton.
