A FORMER delivery worker has admitted failing to deliver more than 5,000 postal items in Aberdeen.
Ian Delph, 26, pleaded guilty to having 4,000 unaddressed postal packets and a further 1,717 addressed postal packets in his home.
Delph had been working as a postal worker for an Aberdeen firm when he committed the offence between April 1, 2009, and November 30, 2009.
His solicitor Mike Allan told the court he had suffered from depression.
Delph, whose address was listed in Aberdeen Sheriff Court papers as *** ********* , Northfield, Aberdeen, was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work in the community.

Is that right that they can publish his address.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

what is an "unaddressed postal packet"? Sounds worse than useless.

A D2D - A Postal Packet is legal jargon for letters and parcels and anything else we deliver.kawoxux wrote:what is an "unaddressed postal packet"? Sounds worse than useless.
Postal Act 2000On the prosecution of an offence under this Act (whether summarily or on indictment), evidence that any article is in the course of transmission by post, or has been accepted by a postal operator for transmission by post, shall be sufficient evidence that the article is a postal packet.

Oh OK. I thought it was referring to packets as in small parcels..TrueBlueTerrier wrote:A D2D - A Postal Packet is legal jargon for letters and parcels and anything else we deliver.kawoxux wrote:what is an "unaddressed postal packet"? Sounds worse than useless.

Addresses of plaintiffs go into the public domain as they are written into court records.
Local newspaper tend to include them in articles alot up here to try and (set an example), unless it is a very very sensitive issue like paedophilia.
