MORE Christmas postmen and women are required for Edinburgh, despite a high-profile appeal.

Thousands of applications have streamed in across Scotland, but the depots across the Capital still need more bodies to take the festive workload.

The Royal Mail’s managing director of operations and modernisation, Mark Higson, said: “Christmas is the busiest time of the year.

“We are delighted at the response from people keen to earn extra money over the festive season. But more seasonal recruits are required in many areas of Edinburgh.”
