Event to celebrate life of postie

FRIENDS and family of a much-loved postwoman will be celebrating her life at a fund-raising event for Sue Ryder Care.

Sandra Cooper, who died last September, has been described as “a vibrant and integral part of the community.”

She lived in Newborough, where she delivered the mail for 15 years.

Sandra had many interests.

She was a keen runner for Peterborough Athletics Club and Werrington Joggers, a member of the Kountry Kickers line dancing group and performed on stage with Newborough Dramatic Society.

The Last Post, A Tribute to Sandra Cooper will take place at the Post Office Club, Bourges Boulevard, Peterborough, on October 15, from 7pm to 12:30am.

On the night there will be a disco, buffet and a raffle, and live music from band Maslow.

Tickets cost £10 each, with proceeds going to Sandra’s favourite charity, Sue Ryder Care.
