Royal Mail has confirmed that Kings Langley’s delivery office will move to Watford within the next month.

The office will relocate to Caxton Way, Watford, on October 17 and will serve customers in the WD4 and WD5 postcode areas.

The postal service is also scoping the potential for customers to be able to collect mail from a local Post Office branch.

Mark Ellis, Royal Mail representative, said: “This relocation is part of the ongoing modernisation of our business and is vital to put Royal Mail on a sound, secure and sustainable footing for the future.

“It will enable us to continue to offer a high quality of service to our customers in Kings Langley and improve conditions for our delivery postmen and women.

“We are talking to our people about this relocation to minimise disruption for them and the service they provide to our customers.

“We do not expect there to be any impact on customer deliveries and there will be no job losses as a result of this move.”

The new delivery office will have longer opening hours than at present: from 7 am to 7 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; from 7 am to 8 pm on Wednesday; and from 7 am to 2 pm on Saturday.

Dedicated car parking will be available for visitors.
