Masked robbers armed with a crowbar and a sledgehammer burst into a Halesowen post office in broad daylight and threatened staff before swiping cash.
The two men raided the Stars News Post Office in Manor Lane, Halesowen.
The pair ran into the shop and ordered customers to freeze while they smashed through the counter glass with the sledgehammer and grabbed cash from the tills.
They then ran off, getting into a waiting silver car.
Post office worker Selena Ford was the only member of staff in the shop at the time.
Josh Belford, aged 18, was working in the neighbouring Stars News shop when the robbers struck.
He said: “Selena was the only one next door and she ran out the back as soon as they came in and told me to phone the police.â€
