Have you been a victim of the Atos assessment process

Post by AtosVictims »

Hello

My name is Paul Smith and I'm running a campaign called, "The Atos register of shame".

I'm sure your aware that there has been a huge national uproar over the way in which the government, and the privatised company Atos have been conducting the assessment process to which everyone claiming IB,ESA,DLA, Etc have to undergo.

The assessment process is so extreme that people who are dying of terminal illnesses etc are being found fit to work, soldiers returning from Afghanistan are having benefits denied them even though they have severe disabilities.

I have no doubt the Post Office and it's members have come across Atos before, they are getting everywhere and are destroying lives.

We are collating peoples personal accounts of the Atos assessment process, If any of your members have had to undergo an Atos assessment in relation to benefits then we would like to hear from them, they are more than welcome to use an alias as the accounts etc will eventually be published in a document, the idea behind this campaign is to highlight peoples concerns and worries over this dodgy company and it's methods.

I don't know if your aware that ATOS are the Occupational Health Service provider for Royal Mail.
Not only are they responsible for declaring a claimant "fit for work"as far as ESA is concerned,it is also possible that the same people have already declared them "unfit to work" through our Ill Health Retirement procedure.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

that is EXACTLY right fish, mate. a lad from our office was declared unfit to perform his duty by atos, in fact they said he would be unfit for the job in ANY capacity. this was due to his ongoing back problems etc, so,,,,they ill health retired him. when he went to the dole and made his incapacity claim, lo and behold, its them c**** again, and this time they rejected his incapacity claim, stating he was fit for work. i think i would be putting a claim in for unfair dismissal.

I have never heard of Atos giving a Telephone assessment to any benefit claimant, maybe it's different for Healthcare in the post office?

I would be most grateful If and when you have the time that you send me your personal account of your Atos assessment, you can use an alias instead of your real name?

I've had bad dealings with them. They told my DOM I was fit and AGREED to go back to work when no such conversation ever took place...

Atos are a complete bunch of Liars, it's been proved time and time again by people I know, there reports don't match up to anything that happened in ones assessment.

The best thing to do is to record your assessment covertly.

ATOS via RM were brilliant.
ATOS via DWP are awful.

The fact that I'm in so much pain some days, I can't get out of bed doesn't seem to matter. Because I made it to the assessment, I was fit for work. But if I hadn't struggled to the assessment, I wouldn't have been assessed and they'd have stopped the ESA anyway. I've appealed against the decision and I'm awaiting the tribunal now.

I might be fit for doing a little office job or something but a) who's going to want to employ someone who's condition is ongoing and as yet not properly diagnosed, and b) who's going to want to employ someone who doesn't know whether they'll be able to work from morning to the afternoon?! Plus the fact that there are bugger all jobs around here anyway doesn't help.
Does this rag smell of chloroform to you?
